FCDO and IWMI Delegation Visits the Nature-based Solutions Knowledge Park in Al-Jurf, Ramtha

The JAHEZ project delegation (Strengthening the Climate Change Response Readiness of Refugee-Hosting Communities in Jordan) visited the Nature-Based Solutions Knowledge Park in the Al-Jurf area of Ramtha.

The delegation included Mr. Anton Klymchuk, JAHEZ Project Officer at FCDO; Ms. Serena Bashal of FCDO; Mr. Jeremy Stone, JAHEZ Project Lead at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI); Dr. Ahmed Masoud of IWMI; and Eng. Duaa Al-Deirbani, CEO of the Climate Action Network (CAN) and JAHEZ Project Manager at CAN, along with the project team.

The delegation viewed the nature-based solutions implemented on site. These were developed through an approach that combines risk analysis, scientific evidence, field verification, and the participation of the municipality and local community in setting priorities and co-designing.

The park serves as a knowledge and demonstration site that showcases nature-based solutions and promotes their adoption and wider application by the municipality and the local community, supporting adaptation and resilience to climate risks.

The Climate Action Network (CAN) is the national implementing partner of the JAHEZ project in Irbid and Ramtha.
