Jahez Project Delegation Meets the Mayor of New Ramtha and Reviews Implementation Progress
His Excellency the Mayor of New Ramtha Municipality, Eng. Jamal Abu Obeid, received a delegation from the Jahez project (Strengthening the Climate Change Response Readiness of Refugee-Hosting Communities in Jordan). The delegation included Mr. Anton Klymchuk, Jahez Project Officer at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO); Ms. Serena Bashal of FCDO; Mr. Jeremy Stone, Jahez Project Lead at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI); Dr. Ahmed Masoud of IWMI; and Eng. Duaa Al-Deirbani, CEO of the Climate Action Association in Jordan (CAN) and Jahez Project Manager at CAN, along with the project team.
The meeting reviewed the journey of implementing the Jahez project in Ramtha and its participatory approach, which combines scientific evidence, local community needs, and municipal priorities in identifying risks and designing interventions. It also covered progress on the Knowledge Park for Nature-Based Solutions in the Al-Jurf area.
The Climate Action Association in Jordan (CAN) is the national implementing partner of the Jahez project in Irbid and Ramtha.
