Key Meeting Held to Select Priority Sites for Climate Interventions in Irbid and Ramtha

As part of the activities of the “Jahiz” Project, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and implemented under the leadership of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), represented by Project Lead Jeremy Stone, in partnership with the UK Met Office and the Climate Action Association represented by its President and Project Manager Eng. Doaa Al-Deirbani, an expanded meeting was held on 3/12/2025 with concerned stakeholders in Greater Irbid Municipality and New Ramtha Municipality respectively.

During the meeting, the results of the scientific and community assessments were reviewed. Three high-priority sites were approved in a neutral and transparent manner, following a methodology based on data and community participation from both Jordanians and refugees.

This meeting represents a major step towards selecting the final sites for upcoming climate interventions in both Irbid and Ramtha, with the support and follow-up of relevant local authorities.
