Stakeholder Consultation Workshop: Prioritizing SLCP Mitigation Measures

On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, the Jordan Climate Action Network (CAN) organized a workshop at the Marriott Hotel in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and funded by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC). The workshop aimed to identify priorities and establish policies for mitigating the impacts of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs).
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Jihad Al-Sawaeer, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment, and was attended by approximately 40 participants from various government sectors.
The workshop featured contributions from Ms. Seraphine Haeussling, representing the Climate and Clean Air Coalition, who delivered a presentation emphasizing the importance of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) in addressing SLCPs. Dr. Fayez Abdullah, Chairman of CAN, provided an overview of the project, detailing its timeline and goals.
Additionally, CAN showcased its mission in data collection efforts and demonstrated its LEAP Jordan Model, highlighting its role in advancing SLCP mitigation strategies.
The workshop concluded with actionable recommendations and proposals to prioritize SLCP mitigation measures. This initiative is part of an ongoing project implemented by CAN, titled “Deliver Policy Analysis and Recommendations on SLCP Mitigation,” which will continue until the end of next year.
