The Climate Action Network (CAN), in partnership with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), has initiated a series of initial preparatory meetings with local partners under the “Jahez Project,” which aims to enhance climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction through Nature-based Solutions (NbS).
The tour kicked off in Ramtha Municipality, where the project team met with His Excellency Mayor Jamal Abu Obaid and the technical team, represented by Eng. Ruqaya Al Akour and Eng. Asem Khazali. They held a constructive dialogue regarding the work priorities and the upcoming roadmap.
In Irbid Greater Municipality, the team conducted a fruitful meeting with the Municipal Liaison Officers: Eng. Rabab Ali, Dr. Layla Yousef, and Eng. Nagham Al Satari. The meeting focused on aligning efforts to activate the role of local communities in confronting climate challenges.
We believe that these preliminary meetings represent the cornerstone for the project’s success, achieved by enhancing coordination and joint planning with stakeholders on the ground.
Stay tuned for more updates on the project’s next steps in #Irbid and #Ramtha.
