Three-Day Workshop on Climate Change and Health Launched in Amman

Amman, Jordan – July 14, 2024: A three-day workshop was launched yesterday, July 14, 2024, at Le Royal Hotel Amman, as part of the Global Center on Climate Change, Water, Energy, Food, and Health Systems (GC3WEFH) which is a three-year programme funded by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). Climate Action Network Jordan (CAN) is serving as a principal investigator (PI) in this collaborative project, which also brings together an esteemed consortium of institutions in addition to CAN, the University of California San Diego, Texas A&M University, University of Jordan, The Hashemite University, Royal Scientific Society, and the University of California San Francisco.
The workshop aims to address the critical intersections between climate change and health, focusing on innovative solutions and research to mitigate the impacts of climate change on water, energy, food, and health systems. The event will feature a series of presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions led by experts and researchers from the participating institutions.
