Building Resilience: CAN Jordan to Lead JAHEZ Project Implementation in Irbid and Ramtha

We are proud to be selected as the national implementing partner for the Jahez Project in Irbid and Ramtha! 🇯🇴🌱

After a highly competitive selection process, Climate Action Network (CAN) Jordan has been chosen as the national partner to implement the Jahez Project in the municipalities of Irbid and Ramtha, besides RSS that was selected as the National Implementing PArtner for Azraq Municipality, with generous support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and implementation led by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in partnership with Met Office Uk, and the Government of Jordan represented by MoEnv and MoPIC.

Our team at CAN is deeply honored to have applied for and secured this opportunity. This timely initiative directly supports the “Refugee Nexus” approach championed by His Majesty King Abdullah II at COP27, reflecting a shared commitment to climate justice and integrated solutions for both host communities and refugees.

The Jahez Project aims to enhance community resilience to climate change and disaster risks by:

Promoting nature-based solutions (NbS)

Establishing impact-based early warning systems

Strengthening the leadership of women, youth, and refugees

Fostering locally driven governance and action

We sincerely thank our partners for their trust and support. We are fully committed to delivering this project with professionalism, innovation, and deep community engagement. Together, we will build a more resilient and climate-ready Jordan.
