The Climate Action Association (CAN) is proud to participate in the “A Safe Summer for Our Forests” campaign, the national initiative for weed clearing at the Kufrabil Reforestation Project in the Koura District. This campaign is held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Interior, emphasizing the importance of integrated national efforts to protect forests and vegetation cover while enhancing public safety and community preparedness.
Our participation comes within the framework of the Al-Munther Al-Monakhai initiative, through which we provide technical, logistical, and awareness-based support. This includes raising awareness about the risks of climate change and wildfires, and their impacts on the environment and community health, in support of national efforts to reduce environmental risks and promote social responsibility.
This activity is part of the outcomes of the Local Resilience Action Plan (LRAP) for the city of Irbid, which was developed under the project: “Harnessing Synergies between Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction in Inclusive Healthcare System Responses for Migrants in Jordan.” Funded by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), the project focuses on enhancing institutional and community resilience, and supporting preventive efforts related to climate, environmental, and health risks.
Together towards a safer summer… and a more sustainable environment for future generations. 🌿🔥
